It is a busy Christmas holiday season for car hire, but Jane (my wife) and I managed a scenic drive through the Gold Coast Hinterland. For those who are not familiar, the Gold Coast hinterland is a sub-tropical rainforest area right on our doorstep! Perfect for hiking, nature photography or, like us, visiting one of several waterfalls in the area.
Purling Brook Falls was spectacular as always! As we walked through this ancient forest, we felt as ease in nature and we were a world away from the busy shops, beaches and the cafe strips we are so used to.
Our next stop is The Knoll Lookout at Tamborine Mountain then onto Curtis Falls Corner where we visit the corner store, lolly-shop, cafe and our favourite, Tamborine Mountain Teapots!
Gondwana Rainforest of Springbrook National Park is World Heritage-listed. Unbelievable, this abundant natural beauty is less than an hour away from Surfers Paradise!
